Deseret News ”From the ashes”
Two editorial illustrations for Deseret News April Issue.
For the article "From the ashes - When a volcanic eruption set a tsunami in motion last year, thousands of Tongans tapped the island’s deep reserves of faith", by Ethan Bauer.
Given that Tonga is renowned worldwide for its whale watching and whale conservation traditions, I decided to incorporate the imagery of whales and schools of fish to symbolize the strength of the people's faith in coming together to rebuild their homes.
